Many consider the Quinceañera as a time of transformation. It is the time when a young woman “comes of Age” and crosses that threshold between youth and adulthood. Therefore, it is not only a time for celebration but also a time e event. It’s about the transformation, reflection, oath to God to remain pure, and the impact this will have on your life. The celebrant should realize that there are others who look up to her as a role model, whether it is a sibling, friend, or cousin. Even though it is a fun occasion, out hope is that the celebrant realizes the deeper meaning of this event "The Quinceañera",
(Quince añ era) - the word comes from the Spanish language. The meaning is very simple and is defined with the first part of the word, “Quince” meaning the number 15, “años” meaning years, “era” meaning the girl or “ero” for a guy. The Quinceañera traces its roots throughout the history of the southwest to the unity of the Spanish and Aztec cultures. Many people have described different scenarios concerning the origin of this tradition, they all lead back to history. This “Coming of Age” celebration has come a long way. The Aztecs sent young boys into the jungle for weeks on end as a ritual to become men on their own, thus, assuring their survival. When both cultures merged, the “Coming of Age” celebration became a CATHOLIC celebrated event Today’s celebrations are still celebrated within the Catholic community, however, studies show that many different religions and denominations all over the world celebrate the “coming of age” with special events. They are blending other cultures with theirs and making it their own.

La Quinceañera!

THE SWEET 16
is a party, however the new trend is that it is celebrated like a Quinceañera with a church mass. It is okay as long as the youth understands the meaning
of “Coming of Age ”.

THE SWEET 15
Is a party as well....

A  new trend for the Sweet 16 party is to have your Pastor/  Father from your church, Bless your event with a blessing at the beginning of your reception.

Take $20.00 to $30.00 from every paycheck and set it aside in a savings for your child’s future & their special day. You will be amazed at how it will build up & and help with the financing.

Happy, Happy Birthday Chica!!
